SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION An object of the invention is to avoid the above-mentioned disadvantages and problems and to provide an observation device which facilitates the use. In a preferred embodiment, a device is provided which in a clear manner reproduces a clear picture of the surroundings on the other side of the door, even when it is dark.
For this purpose, the observation device is provided with an image sensor for capturing an image of the surroundings outside the door and a screen for clearly illustrating the image. The screen shows a clear picture and is also user-friendly in that the eye does not have to be placed in direct connection with the observation device during use to see what is outside the door.
In accordance with an embodiment of the invention, an electronic observation device is provided. The observation device comprises a lens with an associated image sensor. Said lens and image sensor are located on the outside of the door and are connected by an advantageously threaded tube to an observation member comprising a screen and control unit located on the inside of the door. A cable runs through the tube which connects the image sensor to the control unit. The observation member is further placed on the inside of the door by means of a fastening device. The fastening device is screwed to the threaded pipe with the help of a traditional nut and thus does not damage the door. The observation member is then hooked to the fastening device without any additional requirements for fastening.
In a further embodiment of the invention, the image sensor is adjustable to a position for IR reading, which makes it possible to see who is standing on the other side of the door even when it is dark. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS The invention will now be described in more detail with the aid of exemplary embodiments with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which Fig. 1 is a side view, partly in cross section, of an observation device according to the invention, Fig. 2 is a perspective view of the observation means with the screen obliquely from the front, Fig. 3 shows an embodiment of the fastening device, Fig. 4 is a perspective view of the observation means in Fig. 2 obliquely from behind and Fig. 5 is a block diagram showing functional blocks of the invention.
THE INVENTION With reference to the figures described in more detail below, an observation device is illustrated.
With reference to the first embodiment of the invention shown in Figure 1, an observation device 10, which can be mounted in an existing hole for ordinary optical peephole, is illustrated for supervising what is on the other side of a door 11. The observation device 10 comprises a lens 12 with an image sensor 14. The lens 12 and the image sensor 14 are located on one side of the door 11 and are connected by a threaded tube 16 running through the hole in the door 11 to an observation member 13 arranged on the outside of the door 11.
The observation means 13 comprises a display 15 and a control unit 27. The control unit 27 comprises an image processing means and is connected to a first button 31 for switching the display 15 and the image sensor 14 to and from, a second button 29 and a third button 30 for adjusting the light control unit. 4 15 on the screen 15. The observation member 13 is placed on the inside of the door 11 via a fastening device 17.
The image sensor 14 is connected by a cable 22 running through the tube 16 via a connector 28 to a cable 23 from the control unit 27. The control unit 27 is also connected to the display 15. In a preferred embodiment, the fastening device 17 is threaded onto the tube 16 and screwed fixed by means of a nut 24. The monitor 15 is then mounted on the fastening device 17 by a simple hooking function.
In a preferred embodiment of the invention, an infrared detector 18 is placed in the lens 12 on the outside of the door 11 in order to be able to see who is on the other side of the door 11 even when it is dark.
Figure 2 shows the observation means 13 in a front view with the display 15, the first button 31 for switching the display 15 and the display sensor 14 on and off, the second button 29 and the third button 30 for adjusting the brightness of the display 15. The observation means 13 further comprises a cover 37 in front of a separate battery compartment 32 for placing batteries 19 intended to supply power to the observation device 10.
With reference to the embodiment described in Figure 2, the screen 15 shows a picture of what is on the other side of the door 11 only when it is activated by holding down the button 31 and. The monitor 15 further has a wide viewing angle to illustrate the image of the person outside the door 11 in a clear manner even if one is not standing directly in front of the monitor 15. For example, people sitting in a wheelchair and viewing the monitor 15 from below.
Referring to Figure 3, the fastener 17 is shown, by means of which the monitor 15 is attached to the door 11. The fastener 17 comprises two wings 33, 34 and is made with a hole 39, through which the tube 16 is passed in use. Furthermore, the fastening device 17 comprises a plate of softer material 38 to ensure that the screen 15 is firmly seated when it is pressed against the fastening device 17. The fastening device 17 also comprises in the preferred embodiment double-sided adhesive tape 21 on the side of the fastening device 17 which can placed against the inside of the door 11 if it is desired to further ensure that the fastening device 17 is fixed.
Referring to Figure 4, the back of the observation member 13 is shown with a hatch 25 formed in an upper side, under which a space 26 for storing the connector 28 and the cables 22, 23 connected from the image sensor 14 and the screen 15 via the connector 28 via the connector 28.
Furthermore, spaces 35, 36 in which the observation member 13 is fixed to the fastening device 17 are damaged by first placing the wings 33, 34 in the space 35,36 intended for the purpose in the observation member 13 and then pressing the observation member 13 down until the wings 33, 34 are in place. and hooked under wall portions 40, 41 over the spaces 35, 36.
Referring to Figure 5, there is shown a block diagram showing functional blocks of the invention. The control unit 27 is connected to the button 31 for switching the monitor 15 and the image sensor 14 on and off. The control unit 27 is further connected to the buttons 29, 30 for adjusting the brightness of the display 15. The control unit is powered by the batteries 19. Furthermore, the control unit 27 and the image sensor 14 connected via the connector 28.
